I hate going to the mall. Almost every time I need to swing by there, I think up some excuse. I've had an American Eagle Gift Card for several months and found a 15% off printable, so I decided to go and see what I could find. What you see above is the result.
Belk was having a really good Red Dot Clearance and everything I got there was 75-85% off.
The dress was marked down to $19.95 from $39.95(used the gift card) and I got the black/white striped shirt with my $10 Swiffer Rebate card, and I paid $32 for everything else (flowery button up shirt, tank top and two vests). I saved $158 in Belk alone!
Between this trip and the one I made to Ross and Marshalls on Wednesday, I won't need to buy clothes for a good while.

Tuesday I headed to Walmart to pick up two things. I'm not a fan and only go once a month to get Soy Milk and Chai Mix because none of the other stores in my town carry my brands. Guess what they were out of...Soy Milk. Grr..Oh well, joke's on them because I got lots of free stuff. I also had to run by Aldi (I wasn't paying $1.44 for a single zucchini) and Food Lion (forgot the chick peas at Walmart). Anywho, here's how I came out:
Food Lion: $0.81
Aldi : $1.32
Walmart: $7.97
Yay moneymaker travel-sized razors. Keep an eye out for the $2/1 or $3/1 Bic razor coupons because they don't say you can't get the travel 2 pack.
Total out of pocket: $10.01

Earlier today (or maybe yesterday by this point), I posted information about Boost and a money back guarantee. I found an image of the product and hotlinked it on the post. Apparently, I linked it from a site that was not pleased with that and as a result, a rather rude flashing graphic appeared where the product image should have. I was completely in the wrong there and for that, I apologize to all you guys and wanted to thank the readers that e-mailed me and brought the image to my attention. All further images will be uploaded through blogger or photobucket.
And as always, thanks for reading.

It's Thrifty Thursday again. Amazing how fast the week goes. Got a tip or a great shopping trip to share? Click on the banner below and link up at Coupon Teacher.

Before you recycle that free magazine you've finished reading, here are a few ways to get a little more mileage out of it.

1. Make a collage with your kids. You may need a few magazines for this one, depending on if you pick a theme or not, but this is a free craft that you and your kids can make together.

2. Word game. Another free way to entertain your kids and build their word skills is to play a game. Cut words from the ads and spread them out on the table. See who can make a sentence the fastest. To make it more challenging, give one a subject, another a verb and so on. They have to build their sentence around this word.

3. Picture writing exercise. Instead of cutting out words, cut out pictures, get your child(ren) to choose one, paste it on a sheet of paper, and write a short story about it. Display it on your fridge.

4. Donate it/them. If you're just going to throw them away or recycle them, check with your child's teacher to see if they've got any projects coming up where the magazines could be of use. Check your local Boys & Girls' club as well. Also, Goodwill sells old magazines for super cheap, so they take them as donations.

5. Wrapping paper for smaller gifts. So, this sounds a little cheap, but I guarantee you that most of your friends won't notice or care what a gift is wrapped in so long as it's from you. Wrapping paper can get expensive. This way, you're both saving money and wasting less paper.

Here's the summary from Booklist:
Paige Rogers, the kindly librarian of Split Creek, Oklahoma, has a secret. She’s a former CIA agent, the sole survivor of an attack on her team during a covert mission in Angola. Paige thinks that Daniel Keary, their leader at the time, caused the deaths of her friends. Knowing that someone wants her dead, too, Paige has stayed hidden in her quaint, quiet Oklahoma town for the past seven years. But now, a stranger has come to town, and he’s asking a lot of questions. In addition to this, Keary has just announced his candidacy for governor of Oklahoma, and it’s time for him to finally destroy the major roadblock to his successful campaign—Paige. This masterfully crafted suspense novel immediately hooks the reader with a pervasive sense of imminent danger. A real page-turner, Breach of Trust is the first book in Mills’ faith-based Call of Duty series. --Shelley Mosley

Thanks to BzzAgent (join here), I got to try out the new Cover Girl Shine Blast makeup.

I really like it, actually. I've never had too much luck with the eyeshadows that are creamy and have been more of a fan of the powder ones. Cover Girl has changed my mind a little bit. After applying both steps, the eye color lasted through my nine-hour shift at work without the need to reapply. The instructions were helpful as well because I've never really known how to get the "smokey eye" look.

The lip gloss was great! I love that there's just a hint of color and plenty of shininess. I reapplied it a couple of times throughout the day and I loved the way it made my lips feel.

I've been a fan of Cover Girl for a while but probably wouldn't have tried the Shine Blast line before BzzAgent. Now I think I'll take a second look the next time it's time to buy makeup.

I've been a Netflix member since my first year of college, so that's around early 2005. I love being able to find titles that I never could at the video store. Plus, I can type in my favorite actors, actresses, directors, etc. and just go right down the list. Netflix on Demand has given me another reason to love them. I think my instant queue is longer than my dvd one.
I used to pay $17.99/month for three rentals at a time but with the advent of streaming, I've cut back to one at a time and only pay $8.99 which gives me one dvd at a time and unlimited streaming. While I am unhappy with Warner Brothers DVD company for holding the titles for a month, I just stick those at the bottom and move right along.
While many of the streaming titles are older and not always great movies, there are many good ones and tons of TV that I would otherwise not see. I work most nights and don't have a DVR.
Additionally, if you have any of the video game systems that will stream the movies and/or a Roku, you can stream movies from up to three devices at a time. That means I can catch up on SVU from my PS3 and my parents can find something to watch on the Wii in our family room. Pretty sweet.
If you can do the few free Redbox titles per month and get by, that's awesome, but if you do need a little more or titles that aren't new releases or well-known, it's totally worth the $8.99/month for Netflix.

I went to Target to grab the Schick razors this morning and the 5 blade ones were $7.99 but the 3 blades were only $6.99. Both coupons said any Schick Hydro, which is great because I don't have any stores around that I could price match with. I got the razors, used the coupons and brought my own bag ($.05 off) and with tax, I paid $2.28 and got back the $5 GC, making it a $2.72 moneymaker instead of the $1.02 I originally planned on.
