It's Thrifty Thursday...a day late! Have a thrifty tip to share? Score a great deal this week? Link up over at Coupon Teacher via the graphic below.
:)

One way to cash in on things that you buy anyway is to join rewards programs. Sure, you spend money on the items (or maybe if you're lucky, you don't sometimes), but you can get a tiny percentage back if the company has a rewards program. Here are some good ones:

My Coke Rewards. You get 3 points for bottles and 20 points for a box of cans. Add up your points and trade them in for more coke products, magazine subscriptions, even mixing bowls.

Stoneyfield Rewards. If you're a big yogurt eater, you can earn rewards toward more yogurt and "green goods" by signing up.

Tropicana Rewards. Drink Tropicana and earn points for everything from sweepstakes to discounted rates on travel destinations.

Disney Movie Rewards. Aside from My Coke Rewards, I use this one most often. The best part about this rewards program is that you don't really have to buy a lot of Disney stuff to get points. They release free codes for anywhere from five to fifty points. I grab the free ones when they come along and am just saving the points until I see something I like.

Pampers Gifts to Grow. They've just extended this one until 2012. Find points on the inside of the diaper packages and redeem them for baby stuff.

Shop Your Way Rewards Kmart/Sears. Though not necessarily an online rewards program, you do earn a point for every dollar you spend at Kmart and Sears. That doesn't seem like a lot, but if you're shopping there anyway, it's worth it. Also, you get special Catalinas at Kmart and chances to win products they carry each time you use your card.

What others am I missing out on?

I absolutely love these things. I first heard about them from Shelly over at Coupon Teacher and checked my local Food Lion. Sure enough, sometimes there are tearpads with rebate offers from Beer companies that don't require to purchase their beer. Check below to see if your state participates. I found two today when I was shopping:

Free Golf Balls from Michelob Ultra -> I'm going to do two. One sent to me and one sent to my brother. That way, he gets both sets.

$6 off a $10 or more frozen or fresh chicken purchase ->I did this with a seafood one and ended up getting 12 salmon fillets for something like $0.37 each after the rebate.

Participating states: AL, AR, CT, HI, KY, MA, ME, MN, MO NC, NJ, NY, RI, SD, UT, VA and WV.

It's Thrifty Thursday! Have a tip or find a really good deal? Link up over at Coupon Teacher below.

This photo is actually cropped from the one I posted yesterday about Target, but it's my best find of the week. These were originally $9.99 and somewhere in there they ended up on clearance for $2.48 each, so for the price of 1, I got 4 and won't have to buy shower curtains for quite a while, and they're adorable!
:)
What did you find this week?
Post Grad

Okay, so I'm really going to try and make this a weekly post. My best friends and I get together on Wednesday nights. Sometimes we play Wii, sometimes we watch a movie, but lately we've been having Game Night. Tonight, we played Taboo.

I've never played this before but it was a favorite of my late aunt's and a good friend recommended it and brought it over.
We usually end the night around 10:30 or 11 since my friends work 9-5; they didn't leave until after midnight, which attests to both the game and the company.

Taboo has a simple premise but can be enjoyed for hours. There's a word or phrase at the top of the card. You try to get your partner (or person across from you) to say the word without saying any of the words or phrases listed on the card in front of you. There's an hourglass and you try for as many cards as possible in the time limit. When the game is over, you add up points to determine the winner.

I am excited to say that I was on the winning team, but the score was definitely close.

I'm not being compensated by Taboo or its owner, but it was definitely fun and I would recommend to any looking for a fun, adult game night. Not that it's adult in nature, but it's a little above the kid level.
Can't wait for next Wednesday. It's my favorite day of the week.
:)

Sweet. Lovely surprise in my inbox this afternoon. KatieBug over at The Frugal Bug gave me an award! So excited! She's such a sweetie and her blog is so helpful. I check her blog daily for all those things that I seem to miss, hehe. Check her out her latest posts here.
Thanks, Katie!
Rules for the award: Tell 10 honest things about myself and then pass the award to 10 of my favorite bloggers!
OK, here we go.

1. I'm a film snob but I try to restrain myself when around others, most of the time.

2. I almost never watch the news (it depresses me) and thus feel a bit dumb most of the time.

3. I text and drive.

4. I still haven't seen The Blind Side.

5. I couldn't live without my cats, Sundance and Tribeca. Sunny is in my lap as I'm typing this.

6. I mailed in a rebate with my receipt copy instead of the original so I could get a rebate from another company too. Such a cheater.

7. I read books at work when we're slow.

8. I haven't written anything besides a blog in over a year.

9. Marvin the Martian is my favorite cartoon character.

10. Blogs I love (Frugal Bug is implied ;) )

Getting All My Ducks in a Row. Mellisa is awesome and a bunch of fun. Recently she's started the weekly post "What's in your kid's lunch?" which actually helps me out a lot with work lunches.

Coupon Teacher. Shelly comes up with some amazing grocery deals each week and hosts Thrifty Thursday which is an abundant source of money-saving tips.

My 1 Little World. Love reading Traci's updates every day and getting peaks into her "little world." It's always fun.

Smart Shopping Ladies. Serena and Brooke recently started this site that's for newbies and veterans alike. I love that they focus on the free and super cheap!

Adventures of WannaBe SupahMommy. Who doesn't love Supah?! She is absolutely hilarious. Post-It Note Tuesday is one of my favorite posts of the week. Whenever I check her blog, I always find a smile.

A Frugal Friend. Not only do I find great deal scenarios and freebies, but I get to link up at Mailbox Monday. If you don't know what this is, check out this week's goodies and link up your own here.

Coupons & Coffee. Love the freebies and book reviews. :)

My Sohona Called Life. My friend's sister is currently serving in the Peace Corps in Africa. I love her chronicles about her life over there. It's amazing and I envy her!

View From Here. Tim is a really good friend of mine and he's a really deep person who writes this Christian blog. We see eye to eye on a lot of stuff, so I love keeping up with his thoughts.

The Diaper Diaries. Don't have kids yet but I love keeping up the adventures and weekly themed posts.

Thanks again, KatieBug and congrats new winners from me.
