So today was my first day off in around 11 and I had to return a couple of prettiful Christmas gifts that didn't fit, so I ran by Target to see what I could see. I haven't really been couponing over the holiday; namely because I hate crowds.
I still had the two BOGO Steaz coupons. I didn't find anything else I wanted, so my total was $0.05 for tax. On my way out, I found a dime on the floor. Sweet!
:)
All in all, pretty good day. Now that the holidays are almost over, hopefully things will get back to normal.

Aeropostale Christmas bears are back. Not sure if this is in stores or just online, but apparently they have 2,000 left as of this morning and you can get a free one with your $100 purchase.

Here's the fine print from the website:
With a total Aeropostale merchandise purchase of $100 a customer is eligible for one free Aeropostale bear while supplies last. Limit one Aeropostale bear per purchase. Bear will automatically be added to your shopping cart once your order reaches the qualifying order total. Offer redeemable in store of purchase only. Gift Cards or gift certificates may not be part of the total for qualifying purchases for the free bear promotion. Previous purchases are not eligible. Bulk purchases (purchases in excess of 50 units in a single day) are not eligible for free bear. Bears may be purchased at the current promotional price while supplies last. No other discounts may be applied. Employees are not eligible to purchase bears with their employee discount. If an employee makes a purchase and meets the minimum dollar requirement after all discounts have been applied they will be eligible for a free bear (see above). P.S. from Aeropostale products are not valid for this promotion.

Kudos if you caught the X-Files reference. ;) I got this idea from the new Family Circle with the oh-so-cute snowman on the cover. I modified it for dollar store standards and this is what I came up with. I got the plastic bowl and two tubes of ornaments for $1 each and it makes a pretty nifty centerpiece for our table.

I've had this American Eagle gift card for over two years now. I love their clothes, but I'm not the biggest fan of the store in my town and their prices are a bit expensive, but I went in there on a whim on Friday.
Whenever I do visit the store, my ever-frugal heart drives me in the direction of the back. I can't remember ever paying full price for something. Turns out everything that was already on clearance was an extra 30% off! I tried on several jackets and decided on a dark purple corduroy jacket that was originally $49.99 that was marked down to $39.99. The extra 30% off made it $27.99 and after my $20 gift card and tax, I paid $8!
Looks like this clearance is going on online too and I think you can get free shipping. Check out the clearance items here.

This is the first Christmas I've tried to be frugal, and I must say, I'm never going back!
I have easily saved over $100 in Christmas presents this year, and the best part? I haven't had to sacrifice quality! I haven't had to compromise on gifts for my loved ones and get them something they won't really use because it's cheaper. I've used Paypal money, Mturk points, survey money and good, old-fashioned bargain hunting to get a lot of great presents that won't put me into debt at the beginning of the year when money is tight anyway.
I would like to thank all of you out there in blogland for teaching me the value of saving money, for teaching me that a little time can yield a lot of savings.
I still have a lot to learn but I am definitely a much smarter shopper than I was a year ago.

Need a cookware set? I did! Amazon is offering a $30 rebate on selected Farberware purchases through 12/31/09. Buy any of the cookware sets on this page and submit the rebate form on this page> along with a receipt (or proof of purchase) and the UPC to receive $30 back by mail.

I got the 13 pc. classic set. Original price was $89.99. I used all my Mturk points, $20 in Swagbucks gift cards and a $10 Lightspeed Amazon gift card which took off $41.17. My total was $48.82, making this set only $18.82 after the rebate! That's 79% savings! Plus, that $48.82 will earn me 144 rewards points on my Amazon Rewards Chase card! Too excited about this purchase. Now, to finish my shopping for OTHER people. ;)

My mom and I watch Dancing With the Stars every Monday when it's in season. I came across this DVD on Netflix and thought I'd give it a whirl. I used to dance a lot and I consider myself to be in decent/OK shape. This thing kicked my butt! It's three sections, swing, jive and quick step. I made it through the first two workouts but haven't tried the quick step with Dimitri yet. Gonna try that on Wednesday.
The workout is 54 minutes total, but there are some extras I haven't checked out yet.
Try working this into the Netflix queue for an intense but fun workout!

I had a few make-up coupons that expired yesterday, so I ran to Target to pick up a few staples. While there, I found a stray $1/1 batteries coupon and took advantage of a couple of the Cat Treat deals. My cats don't need treats for about a year now, hehe.

Used $2.50/2 Cover Girl MF and 2 Buy one foundation, get a face product free coupons.
Used the $2/2 MF and $1/2 Target coupons for all the cat treats.
Not pictured-found a $1/1 MF for the batteries in the $1 spot.
Original Total: $35.04
Paid: $10.28
Total Savings: 71%
Not bad for my expensive makeup. The foundations are $7.99 each normally.
